Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

And here's an explanation of what it means.

We are sitting on our patio, in 65 degree sunshine, drinking a 2008 Pisse-Dru bottle that we bought today. It has a little sticker on it that says "Célébrez La Fête Beaujolaise."

Santé!

P.S. Take a look at the newly added video of our voyage on the Canal du Midi, over in the right hand column. Unfortunately, we were too busy working the locks to actually film them, and the batteries ran out before the trip did. Enjoy.

65 degrees and sunshine go great with Beaujolais. Its 25, overcast, and windy here, so I'm having a Yukon Jack.

Actually Jan picked up a bottle of some California variety of Nuveau at Trader Jack's today. It will go well with turkey next week.

Enjoyed the boat video. The scenery looked great. A question for Rick - did you take your own music, or were you getting The Cars on French radio?

We made 6 mixed cd's before we ever left home, so the Cars is ours. However, french radio is full of english music, I swear they play as much Phil Collins as they did when we were here in 85.

I walked into World Market Thursday afternoon and there greeting everyone at the front door was a display of Beujolais Nouveau 2008. Of course I had to get a bottle but have yet to taste (no fun to sample alone!).

The boat trip is going to be so much fun. It's been years since Terri and I have biked but we're really excited about the entire adventure.

Love you, Mom
